When to schedule a newborn shoot?

Being a newborn photographer in Cleveland, Ohio it has been an honor photographing hundreds of families. Many are new parents welcoming their first-born child while the others are welcoming their second, third and sometimes fourth baby. While the best time to photograph a newborn is no more than 2 weeks after birth, the reality is that many are done third or even the fourth week of life.

The more traditional and posed newborn photography does require that strict timespan because babies are more sleepy and the photographer is able to pose the baby in a variety of sleepy positions. My style of newborn photography is called “lifestyle” meaning it is more natural, baby-led, minimal posing and most of all focusing on the love of the family and their new life with the baby. The baby doesn’t need to sleep during the shoot and can be awake the entire time. The goal is to capture your life, now.

So, don’t stress about getting these done as soon as you get home! It takes time to adjust to life with a baby. Not to mention, it takes time for the mother to feel ready after giving birth which sometimes can be a pronged recovery.

My goal as a newborn photographer in your home is to make you feel relaxed, comfortable and at ease while capturing precious memories along the way.

As always, please don’t hesitate to ask me any questions.
